Paso Robles has the Soleil and Peachy Canyon makes the Cirque...du Vin. Here's a red blend that's as colorful as the circus clown on the label. Peachy Canyon Winery is well known for producing succulent Zinfandels from their vineyards in Paso Pobles. This is their proprietary blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Zinfandel, 16% Petit Sirah, 16% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. The winemaking is very meticulous with each grape lot vinified separately and then basket pressed over 12 hours into American oak barrels where it aged for 18 months. Deeply colored, hints of vanilla, menthol, and black cherry grace the nose. On the palate more cherry along with blueberry, licorice and spice flavors emerge in a round mouthfilling package that's as lively as a three ring circus.
