Girard 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mt., Napa Valley |
 |
This is an extremely limited production wine from Girard. The Diamond Mountain District is an elite sub-region in the Mayacamas Moutains on the West side of Napa Valley that turns out bold and rare Cabs from the intensely concentrated and rich grapes produced there. This is only the third vintage of this wine for Girard but it's a high point as the 2007 vintage brought one of the best harvests in 10 years. Only 294 cases were made, aged 24 months in 90% new French oak, this big-boned beauty is something you'll want in you cellar aging gently over the next 5-10 years. Here's what the Wine Spectator said about it "Intense, rustic, savory and enticing, with a pleasing mix of loamy earth, dried herb and berry, black licorice, espresso and cedar flavors. Full-bodied, this expands on the finish, gaining length and depth. Firmly tannic. Best from 2012 through 2022." Grab it now while it's ON SALE!!!
