This 2007 vintage was another Oustanding one for Brunello. This wine from Angelo Gaja’s Montalcino estate, Pieve Santa Restituta, was vinified in the new state of the art winery just completed. Pieve Santa Restituta's Brunello di Montalcino is produced from a selection of estate-grown grapes from the four non-contiguous vineyards. The vines average 24 years of age. Each vineyards parcel underwent separate fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for approximately three weeks. Afterwards the wines were blended together prior to aging in casks. Full bodied and rich with true expression of Sangiovese; bright tangy red cherry notes along with tobacco, juniper and herbs on a lingering finish.
