Braccale 2010 IGT Toscana, Jacopo Biondi-Santi |
 |
Son of famed Brunello maker Franco, Jacopo Biondi-Santi produces his own Tuscan treasures, but his come from the cool, coastal Maremma where his estate at the Montepo castle boasts vineyards at 900-1,350 feet above sea level. These vines are warmed by the sun and cooled by the coastal breezes and high altitude, which is why this region turns out Italy's greatest Super Tuscan wines. Braccale is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot aged 10 months in French oak barrels. On the palate it shows the family influence; full-throttled intensity with black cherry and berry fruit, along with leather and spices. It's wrapped in a bold, finely-honed tannic frame that suggests pleasure for many years to come. On SALE!
