Red Diamond Merlot is one of America’s top 10 Restaurant Merlots according to Wine & Spirits Magazine. Made by Washington State’s Chateau Ste. Michelle, this affordable ripe red shows rich fruit and true varietal character. Winemaker Juan Munoz Oca, selects grapes from some of Washington's best vineyards and carefully blends 92% Merlot, 3% Cabernet, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine is aged 12 months in French and American oak barrels for added complexity and style. Classic Washington State Merlot at a great price. It’s no wonder restaurant goers can’t get enough of it.

I won't pretend to be pretentious, but the Mrs. graduated Summa from Le Cordon Bleu, so it would not be accurate to say we lack expertise.

We had the privilege of living across from an excellent butcher that provided the most exquisite cuts of, well, everything. One afternoon I went in to buy a couple of their famous 2 inch thick ribeyes. This butcher has an excellent wine selection also, with over 50 labels represented. It just so happened that the shelves were being stocked. I value expert opinions so I asked for a recommendation for a red to go with these premium steaks. The wine man walked over and pulled down a bottle of the 2010 Red Diamond Merlot. "This one", he said with a confidence.

He was right. We quickly ordered a case here at wine express and we have not been disappointed with a single bottle.
