Poggio Sant' Enrico 2004 Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano, Carpineto
A rare treat from the outstanding 2004 vintage, this single vineyard Vino Nobile hails from Carpineto’s Montepulciano Estate and is produced in only the finest vintages. An intense bouquet of black fruit defines the 12 acre Sant’ Enrico parcel. 100% Sangiovese, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented over 16 days in cement vats. It is then aged 12 months in new French and American oak barrels and 4 years in bottle before release. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 91 points saying "Made from Sangiovese selected from top sites in Carpineto’s Poggio Sant’Enrico vineyard and aged in barriques, this wine opens with plum, underbrush and coffee aromas. The palate is youthful and well balanced, delivering restrained black fruit, spice, espresso and oak flavors. Drink after 2016."
