Irony 2012 Pinot Noir, Small Lot Reserve, Monterey
It's hard to imagine winemakers who are more prolific and successful at turning out absolutely stunning value wines than the Indelicatos. As kids, brothers Jay and Chris Indelicato spent hot, dusty days helping their grandfather in the vineyards and growing up around grapes and winemaking 24/7. Now they are experienced vintners with access to a wide swath of quality fruit. For Irony Small Lot Reserve, they’re pulling together individual lots of Pinot Noir from theb sub-appellations in Monterey including Santa Lucia, San Bernbe and Arroyo Seco, providing a spectrum of characteristics and flavors. Each lot is vinified separately and aged three months in French and American oak barrels. All lots are tasted blind and the most exceptional are chosen for the final blend. This 2012 received a Platinum Medal and a score of 95 points in the Critics Choice Wine Awards. They said "All red-berry poise and refined elegance" We say it's absolutely delicious and you can't beat it for the price!

My New Go-To Pinot
The Irony Pinot has everything you could ask for from supple fruit to lip-smacking acidity and a long, smooth finish. It's my new go-to Pinot for week nights and entertaining alike!

Nice value
Can enjoy prior to dinner and with foods that are not spicy and overwhelming.

Holds Up to the Big Boys
Excellent Burgundian Pinot. Tried it for the first time last night. In my opinion, this wine holds up to the big names in CA, such as Patz & Hall, Merry Edwards and Paul Hobbs. Can be served on Tues night on the patio or for dinner at a special occasion. Unbelievable value.

How does the Irony Pinot compare with the Wagner's pinots in terms of fruit, richness, fullness? Which do you prefer---the Irony, the Meiomi, or one of the Wagner's vineyard designated pinots?

Also, you may already know that some of the audio and visuals of the videos are not in synch
Eddie on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I personally go to Meomi here when I can't afford Belle Glos, but this Pinot did not disappoint at this this price point. Also, video/audio played just fine for me, synching issue might be due to network connection.
