The first harvest at Cantina del Nebbiolo was in 1960 and since that time they have continued to grow to where today they control over 700 acre of vineyards. Most importantly however, is they produce impressive quality Piedmont wines at super value prices. This Barbaresco is a prime example. It was selected as a Top 100 Wine of 2014 in Wine Enthusiast Magazine with a score of 93 points. They said “Red rose, balsamic herbs, red berry and baking spice aromas jump out of the glass. The succulent palate weaves together lush black cherry, cinnamon, eucalyptus, licorice and orange peel sensations that are supported by velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2015 through 2021.” You can’t possibly beat this for the price!
This is just a gorgeous, delectably drinkable Barbaresco at an affordable price point. You can enjoy it casually but save it for special occasions because it has a real seductive, beguiling nature that makes you want to celebrate! Unlike most Barbaresco's you won't need to age it for 15 years, it's excellent now. Drink up!
This wine opens with alluring berry and black cherry fruit complemented by floral and dried herb notes. The palate brings about some spice as well as anise while the fruit still drives this wine. Lots of structure and balance here, particularly for a wine at this price point.
