Mas La Plana 2010 Black Label, Cabernet Sauvignon, Penedes, Torres Family
One of Spain's signature red wines, a wine that speaks of the remarkable terroir of the Penedes in Northern Spain. Cabernet Sauvignon is obviously not a Spanish grape but here in this single vineyard it creates a wine that's nothing short of World Class. The Wine Spectator scored this 92 points and Wine Enthusiast Magazine named it a Cellar Selection with a 93 point score they said "Spain's preeminent varietal Cabernet is excellent in its 40th rendition. This single-vineyard wine opens with dark, brooding aromas of rooty spice, licorice, tar, herbs, cassis and prune. In the mouth, this is wiry and tight at the core, but friendly around the edges. Flavors of currant, toast, vanilla, pepper and barbecue sauce finish with ripping acidity but also cuddly, creamy weight. Drink from 2017 through 2030."
