Schloss Vollrads is one of the oldest wine estates in the world with a history that dates back some 800 years. Located in the heart of the Rhine River Valley, the Rhinegau, Riesling is all they grow. And because of its venerable history it is one of the very few German wines where only the estate name, no village, is required on the label. This Spatlese is typically rich and expressive with a delicate balance of sweetness and vibrancy, clearly capable of long cellar aging. 2012 was another stellar vintage for German Riiesling. Wine Spectator scored this 92 points saying "A creamy, lively style, with rich and lush flavors of dried ginger, honeysuckle and red peach. The long finish resonates with light sage honey and creamy notes, backed by vibrant acidity. Drink now through 2037."
