World's End 2013 If Six Was Nine, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Remarkably innovative, focused and wildly successful winemaker Jonathan Maltus brings his talented team to California to produce Worlds End. In Bordeaux he's already legendary, producing St. Emilions Chateau Teyssier and Le Dome that rival the best, even receiving a perfect 100 point score. In Australia his wines are equally revered. Now he launches his Napa Valley wines with equal fanfare. Sourcing from the best vineyards and following meticulous winemaking practices, Worlds End wines have immediately made their mark. The Cabernet Sauvignon that makes up this wine comes from vineyards that provide the basis for many a cult wine. Vines from the hardy lower slopes at Coombsville are coupled with Sugarloaf Mountain’s west and south facing slopes. Finally some input from Circle S up in the mountains on some of highest part of Napa. French inspired fermentation makes this wine a Californian wine - with a twist. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, previous vintages have scored high. This new release was tasted in barrel by Robert Parker who scored it 92-94 saying "The opaque ruby/purple-hued 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon If Six Was Nine possesses exceptional crème de cassis and blueberry fruit, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. This stunning effort sells for a realistic price in the scheme of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon pricing."
