Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2012 Couvent des Jacobins, Dom. Louis Jadot
Not you average Bourgogne Pinot Noir, this wine is produced entirely from Louis Jadot's estate vineyards. A wealth of riches is good way to describe Jadot's vineyard holdings, with property in the Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune and the Cote Chalonais. Grapes from all of those regions with wide ranging, unique flavor profiles are all selected to go into this cuvee. Each lot is vinified separately and he then aged in oak barrels 9-16 months depending upon the lot. The final blend is a sum of all of the best parts and with the price of Burgundy soaring it represents tremendous value. It's a rich wine with supple fruit and a fine backbone for aging over the next 2-5 years. Don't miss it.
