Locations E Red Blend, Dave Phinney, Spain
Dave Phinney of Orin Swift fame has branched out beyond California to produce a line of international wines that show off his expertise blending different varietals as well as his uncanny ability to make wines that taste twice as good as the cost. Robert Parker said "As of now, Dave Phinney might be my 'value winemaker of the year' candidate... If there are better wines for under $20 a bottle in the world today, please share that information with The Wine Advocate. These are all remarkable efforts. Kudos to Dave Phinney!" about these Locations bottling. He scored the Spanish E-2 blend 93 points saying "The Non-Vintage Locations E-2 Spanish Red Wine is a blend of Grenache from Priorat, Rioja and Toro, Tempranillo from Rioja, and Carignan from Ribera del Duero and Carinyena. It has the same fermentation and upbringing as the French and Italian wines. Majestic, soaring black fruit aromas intermixed with forest floor, white flowers and kirsch emerge from this full-bodied, opulent, voluptuously textured red along with stunning richness and depth." This is the E-4 using the same exact formula with which opulent and satisfying results.

Locations E
Very smooth and tasting. Type of wine that can be drank right now but definitely taste better as it ages. I enjoy the entire Locations winery family. Would like to see more of them.

Unexpected pleasure
Much better than I expected, and breathing for a couple of hours adds a worthwhile bonus

A little over hyped
I thought more and expected more from the Swift lineage...it was just OK at best...even at the discounted price point I could have many options for better value...I will drink it but not be interested in reordering...but that is just me..

great vaule
Had friends over to try the E blend from Spain. 8 people and had to open 3 bottles because they could not get enough of this delicious, fruity blend. Big grape flavor, dark purple in the glass. Can't go wrong with this one.

Great value for a great wine
This wine is an amazing value. The fruit lingers and develops on your palate. Recommend decanting the bottle or using an aerator to open up the flavors

Full Body Fabulous Value
A bit harsh and alcoholic after first opening, but decanted for 30 minutes, the harshness wafts away. Full bodied, long finish and I believe it will get better and better with age. This is the fourth of his Locations offerings that I've had(I've loved AR, F and this E....the OR was a disappointment)

Is this the E-2 or the E-3? the written review mentions E-2 but in the virtual tasting, Josh says it is the E-3
A shopper on Feb 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi thanks for your question! This is a non-vintage wine which blends old wines with newer wines. Itís our understanding that the E-3 is the latest bottling of the same wine as the E-2 so they're essentially one and the same. Cheers!
You continue to show a decanter that you say you don't carry. Why aren't you marketing this decanter?
A shopper on Feb 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, you are correct that the decanter in this video is currently not available. Here are three similar wine decanters that you might be interested in:

Is there a strong pepper taste to this wine? Or does this wine taste more chocolate, fruit, etc.
robert g on Feb 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would say more fruit, chocolate with just a hint of pepperiness.
