Primitivo 2013 Donna Marzia, Conti Zecca, Puglia IGT
A 240-acre estate named after the passionate and rebellious Countess Marzia Zecca, who lived during the 17th Century. She took her own life on the estate that now possesses her name. Also known as Zinfandel, the Primitivo variety has been cultivated in Italy for centuries. This Primitivo is harvested from Donna Marzia, Conti Zecca’s most famous estate. This 2013 is a blend of 85% Primitivo, 10% Malvasia Nera and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this well-structured wine offers an abundance of ripe fruits, accented by hints of spices. The wine has a soft, velvety texture and pairs nicely with grilled red meats, pasta dishes with meat-based sauces, and aged cheeses.
