The Hahn family started their winery in 1980 and today it's still family owned and operated. Located in the Central Coast of California they produce a number of different Pinot Noirs and have a particularly deft hand when it comes to bringing out the best in that sometimes finicky grape variety. This wine is their most affordable and until this vintage carried a California AVA. 2015 is the family's 35th anniversary and for this 2014 Pinot, grapes are sourced entirely from Monterey County and in fact from the Arroyo Secco AVA which is a big lift in quality level. The wine is aged in 100% French oak, 40% new. It shows enticing aromas of fresh strawberries black cherries and a touch of toasty oak. Lush and expressive on the palate with strawberry, cherry, cranberry and vanilla nuances. Beautifully balanced with a lingering finish, it's an excellent value Pinot Noir. Awarded Silver Medals in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and in the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
