Masi is one of the historic wineries in the Veneto going back over 200 years. Family owned and run by the sixth generation of the Boscaini family. The sloping vineyards where the grapes are grown for this Amarone Classico Costasera face the sunset. With a longer day, vines that face Lake Garda bask in reflected light, receiving more sunlight, soft breezes and produce the best quality grapes. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 92 points and said "Aromas of crushed violet, baked plum, cake spice, ripe berry and tobacco pervade in this bold, full-bodied red. The firm palate offers ripe black cherry, fig, mocha, nutmeg, licorice and tobacco alongside velvety tannins." and James Suckling scored it 94 saying "This shows ripe sweet cherries with spices and cigar box. Full with lots of juicy fruit but wonderful precision and linearity. Incredible balance. Drink now or hold."
