Caymus 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Magnum, 1.5L
Magnum, 1.5 Liter bottle

Charlie Wagner founded Caymus Vineyards in 1972 and has made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon every year since its founding. Caymus focuses entirely on this variety and the winery's 60-plus acres of estate Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley's Rutherford District forms the foundation of Caymus' Cabernet every vintage. And every vintage Caymus Cabernet is snapped up by Cab lovers and collectors while it's lauded by critics. 2013 was the second outstanding vintage for Napa Valley in a row. Robert Parker scored this 94 points saying "A beautiful ripe, plump, fat and opulent style of Cabernet Sauvignon that Caymus has pioneered, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense purple color, loads of juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, low acidity and no real evidence of oak, but a nice, plush, full-bodied opulence. This is irresistible, especially for a Cabernet Sauvignon coming in at 14.9% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next decade or more." Very Limited!!!

When can one start drinking this (2013 Caymus Cab)? Am sure it will cellar for ages...
Lawrence K on Jul 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I opened a 2012 1 liter last year and it was very good so the 2013 should be okay even now. Obviously, a few more years of bottle age should be better. On the other hand I had a magnum of the 1974 last year because it was beginning to leak, I was surprised to find it in fantastic shape. So, Caymus in magnums can age for many years if cellared properly. I think this is true for magnums in general.
