A perpetual Best Buy, this Nero D'Avola is sourced from vineyards in the Butera zone, some 1,100 feet above sea level. Roughly 50 unique micro zones have been identified in these vineyards offering a complex melange of flavors. Cusumano is directed by two brothers who are driven by a passion for fine wine and a meticulous devotion to quality. With this Nero d'Avola they capture the essence of the white soil vineyards' many microclimates. Grapes are manually selected and carefully vinified. Then the wine ages 5 months on the lees giving it additional depth and dimension. The Wine Spectator said about this 2014 "A balanced red, with a smoky undertow, this shows ripe plum and blackberry fruit in a light- to medium-bodied package, accented by hints of grilled herb and olive. Chewy finish. Drink now through 2018." Enclosed with a resealable glass stopper.
