The Pertinace winery is a winegrower’s cooperative with an over 30 year history of producing outstanding Piedmont wines. With vineyards of over 15 growers, sourcing quality grapes is never a challenge. For this Barbera D’Alba the best grapes from some of the Co-op’s oldest vineyards are used. Vinified on the skins for up to ten days and the aged in small oak barrels for several months, the wine is fruity but full, good structure. It shows aromas of violets, black plums and licorice. On the palate it expresses lively acidity and plum, berry and spice notes. Ideal with cheese or hearty soups and stews but full bodied enough for meat or game.
