Domaine Louis Latour covers 115 acres of vineyard, including 65 acres of Grand Cru, and is the largest holding of Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from their vineyards on the Corton hill's south-easterly facing parcels: Clos du Roi, Les Bressandes, Les Grèves and Les Perrières. All Grand Cru of course. The Louis Latour team manages these mature 40 year old Pinot Noir vines very carefully, carrying out strict pruning and insuring low yields and good maturity. The wine ages 10 to 12 months in 15% new French oak barrels, medium toasted. 2012 was an outstanding vintage and the Wine Spectator scored this wine 94 points saying "Cherry, licorice, sandalwood and mineral notes are elegantly displayed in this rich, harmonious red. Flows almost seamlessly now, with a chalky feel on the long finish the only trace of youthfulness. Fine length. Best from 2020 through 2035." On Sale!!
