Kendall-Jackson 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Reserve, Sonoma
Grand Reserve is a winemaker’s blend of mountain, ridge, hillside and benchland grapes grown along California’s cool coastal appellations. KJ selects grapes from their best estate vineyards and
then monitor, taste and guide each individual lot throughout the winemaking process. Crafted from the top 7% of all the Kendall-Jackson wine lots. Roughly 70% of the wine is from the same vineyard blocks year-to-year, ensuring consistency and enhanced complexity with each vintage. Each lot is kept separate, barrel-aged and crafted—boutique winery style. 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, .5% Merlot and .5% Malbec aged 14 months in 73% French oak (19% new) 27% American oak. Tasting Panel Magazine scored this 91 points saying "Dark and smooth with ripe plum, cassis and black cherry; supple and showing mocha and spice; lush texture and good length."
