Napa Valley Pioneers Burgess, was one of the very first wineries to establish vineyards on the steep slopes of Howell Mountain. Since the outset, Burgess has turned out distinctive mountain Cabs, Merlots, Zins and Syrahs from their estate vineyards that have a strong following. Their estate Syrah is a wine they make in small quantity; only 2,100 cases of this 2011 were produced. The grapes were sourced from two of their vineyards; 24% from Haymaker at 1200 feet with a steep slope facing east and 76% from Triere which is on the valley floor in the Oak Knoll District. The wine was aged in just 10% new American oak barrels. It shows a rich, lively
palate of blackberry, boysenberry,
strawberry, and spice. Soft and supple. Grab it while it's On SALE!!!
