Once part of a much larger Bordeaux estate in the 18th century, the vineyards of La Grange Clinet now surround a nature preserve. All the farming is sustainable and only organic fertilizers are used. Situated on right bank of the Garonne river on gentle hills the 70 acres of mature vines grow Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. For this 2013 the blend is 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc aged 12 months in French oak barrels. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored the 2012 90 points. This 2013 is just as ripe and well-structured. It shows black currants, dried herbs, distinct mineral notes and a lively mouthfeel. Dry and balanced it has a lingering finish. Best of all the price is a steal!
