Here's the wine you can't refuse. With Vendetta, Francis Coppola takes us back to his Godfather days complete with blood stains and bullet holes. But as we all know it's what's in the bottle that really counts, and here we're dealing with grapes from the Amazing 2013 vintage in California. This is a Bordeaux style blend made in a bold style from only Cabernet Sauvignon (66%) and Malbec (34%). He sources the Cabernet from Mendocino and the Malbec from Monterey. The wine was aged 12 months in oak. This wine was a Platinum Medal winner with 94 points in the Critics Challenge Wine Competition. One Judge wrote "Wickedly delicious, Vendetta is rich, dense and decadent, showing notes of blackberry, boysenberry and licorice with a touch of spice and soft, mellow tannins." A seriously good value. Get it now. Don't make us ask you again!
Very nice, dry, yet fruity, with a crisp finish. The tannins gave it just enough spunk. It has a clean, fresh taste that allows you to easily pick out the individual flavors. I enjoyed it sans food and I look forward to saving a few bottles to allow it to mellow and mature. That's only if I can resist drinking it just as it is.
