Located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in the far Northwest corner of the Rutherford appellation, the Flora Springs estate is in the heart of the Napa Valley. Founded in 1978, Flora Springs has been family owned for over three decades. Today, ninety percent of Flora Springs' red wines are sourced from its organically-farmed estate vineyards, and all of these wines are crafted in their solar-powered 19th-century stone winery and caves. As a celebration of the incredible 2013 vintage they decided to create this new Red Blend. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 20% Merlot, 17% Syrah, 8% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, aged in 80% French and 20% American oak for 20 months. It's a ripe expression of Napa Valley fruit with abundant aromas of ripe black cherries and raspberry along
with whiffs of white pepper and dusty sage. It brings flavors of blackberries, boysenberries, plums, black tea and minerals in combination with toasted coconut and hints of vanilla and clove. Silky tannins bring the wine to a finish with bright fruit lingering on the lush palate. This is an outstanding value from a winery with a reputation for greatness.
