Orentano 2012 Pinot Noir, R. Buoncristiani Vineyard, Russian River Valley
Orentano Pinot Noir is handcrafted from their estate, R. Buoncristiani Vineyard, in Russian River Valley. The vineyard is a seven acre parcel in a prime location, a stone's throw from Olivet Lane, Failla's Olivet vineyard and Martinelli's 7 Mules vineyard. The much sought after fruit from this vineyard is primarily sold at top dollar to many producers in the region but they saved some of the best from the outstanding 2012 harvest to make this small, 300 cases lot. Grapes were hand-picked at night and cold-soaked for three days. Then the grapes were crushed, destemmed and fermented in open top tanks, punched down twice a day. It was then aged in 100% French oak barrels 50% new. It is a very food friendly, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with hues of a great Burgundy, and classic Russian River Pinot. It shows flavors of plums, black cherries and ripe strawberries, with hints of cocoa powder and brown spices. It's lively on the palate with bright acidity and beautifully polished tannins. Best of all it's available to our Wine Express subscribers at remarkable discounted price. Very limited, don't miss it!

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can certainly age this wine. We think it has enough balance and concentration to improve over the next 3 to 5 years, Cheers!
