In his book on Burgundy, Robert Parker writes "Les Perrieres, while officially only a Premier Cru, produces white burgundies of Grand Cru status. The wines are splendid, resembling more than anything else those from the renowned vineyard Le Montrachet." This is an excellent example of Meursault-Perrieres from Pierre Matrot. Sourced from mature vines averaging 56 years of age. Fermentation is in one to five year old barrels with indigenous yeasts over 8 to 10 weeks and then maturing on the lees for 11 months. Wine Spectator scored it 91 points saying "Rich, with a broad attack of floral, apple, lemon-lime and honey flavors, all elevated by the vibrant structure. Shows a fine mineral essence on the lingering finish."
