Located in the beautiful Campania region, Feudi Di San Gregorio is at the forefront of revitalizing this historic winemaking area. The first winery from Campania to achieve two stars from Gamberro Rosso for their 20 Tre Bicchieri awards, Feudi di San Gregorio has affirmed its place among the Italian wine-making elite. Taurasi is Campania's signature red wine, and is considered one of Italy's greatest wines. Made from 100% Aglianico grown in the volcanic soils that pervade this region, Feudi has access to some of the oldest Aglianico vines in the country. This 2010 aged 18 months in French oak barrels. Additional bottle age has allowed it to reach a harmonious balance. The Wine Advocate scored it 93 points saying "The 2010 Taurasi is a delightful expression that hits all the high marks. The quality of fruit is ripe and extra generous with blackberry marmalade, chocolate, tar, licorice, pressed flower and spice. The oak element is evident but feels well integrated within the general richness of the wine's fruit density and overall concentration. This is one of Feudi's nicest Taurasi expressions thanks to the smooth and seamless way the wine wraps thickly over the palate. You get some herbal tones on the close with bay leaf, soya and Asian spice."
