Chateauneuf du Pape 2014 La Bernardine, M. Chapoutier
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is known for its amazing soil, composed of large rolled stones from the bed of the Rhône river. These stones hold the heat of the day’s sun and warm the vines in the brisk evening air. Chapoutier’s La Bernardine is quite unique in that it is made up of only one to three grape varieties, primarily Grenache, when 13 are allowed by AOC law. With this unique approach, biodynamic farming and low-yield vineyards, Chapoutier produces a rich, flavorful wine with moderate tannins. Wine Advocate said about this 2014 "The fruity, fresh and easy to love 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape la Bernardine reveals a solid ruby/purple color as well as attractive notes of blackberries, wild herbs and licorice. It will impress on release and hold through 2024."
