The Broquel Malbec from Trapiche is on par with most producers' Reserva wine but at a much more attractive price. Older vines (15+ years) are sourced, 100% Malbec and the wine is carefully vinified and then aged 15 months in French and American oak barrels. It scored 92 points in the Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards. They said "A generous nose, plenty of spicy dark fruits and chocolate which are reflected on the full-bodied palate. A gorgeous wine with high structure, great freshness and a divine juicy finish." and James Suckling scored it 90 points saying "Plenty of dried fruit, spice and light coffee. Full body, light and round tannins and a clean finish. Tangy undertone. One of Trapiche's oldest labels. Drink now."
