Antica is the former Atlas Peak estate, a prime piece of wine growing property in Napa Valley. Now it's owned by Antinori and Renzo Cotarella is in charge of all of the winemaking. The terroir is distinctly mountainous with high altitudes, volcanic soils and rugged terrain. This Chard shows the intense flavor and bright acidity that mountain fruit can bring. Sourced entirely from their Reserve vineyard planted at 1,450 feet. Robert Parker scored this 2103 91 points saying "Fresh apple blossom, green apple skin and citrus notes are present in the tart, minerally, naked 2013 Chardonnay that does a California imitation of a premier cru from Chablis. The long experience of the Antinori family making wines is reflected in this medium-bodied, stylish, well-made Chardonnay. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."
