Fattoria del Cerro has 50 acres of vineyards in the Chianti Colli Senesi appellation. The different expositions of the vineyards allows a diversity in the character of the grapes and of course the warmer microclimate of the southern of Colli Senesi enables the making a more full-bodied Chianti wine. Celebrated enologist Riccardo Cotarella oversees the winemaking. A rigorous selection of the best grapes are selected for this wine, 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately seven days and the wine is aged
a short period of three months maximum in Slavonian oak casks followed by a few months in bottle. James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "The nose here reminds me of Burgundy with dried flowers and red berry aromas. Tight but has beautiful ethereal red fruit and polished, almost nonexistent tannins. Beautiful and delicate. Drink now."
