Santa Cristina is probably Antinori's absolute best value Tuscan red. Grown on their hillside estate vineyard in Cortona, near Montalcino, this blend of 60% Sangiovese 40% Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah with a hint of oak aging is a prime example of their ability to combine long standing traditions with dynamic innovation. The Wine Spectator said "Cranberry and currant notes permeate the fleshy texture in this juicy red. The bright fruit needs a light chill. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Drink now." All of this for under $12 and the Antinori name on the label. Pretty hard to top.
