From Joseph Wagner, maker of Belle Glos and of course the family that created Caymus, comes their latest rich red. This is Russian River Valley Pinot Noir that's as bold and beautiful as anything you've tried before. Joe Wagner has cultivated many prime sources for fruit over the years and 2015 was an excellent vintage with high-quality and abundant fruit harvested. During fermentation both punch-down and pump-over techniques were used to ensure balanced extraction of flavor, aromatics, structure and color. To allow both the sweet and structural influences from the barrels to intermingle seamlessly with the rich fruit and ripe tannins of the wine, Böen was aged in 100% French oak, 60% new. The miriad aromas bring bright bing cherry, dark chocolate, coconut, black licorice, a hint of toast, smoked meat, blueberry and barrel spice. On the palate it delivers cola, vanilla, dark chocolate, dried strawberry and hints of cranberry and cherry. Full bodied but with bright acidity and very fine, polished tannins. A winner!
