Located right on the Silverado Trail, the Black Stallion Estate winery is named in honor of the former Silverado Horsemen's Center that was once located there. The winery is owned by the Delicato family with a history spanning three generations and more than 85 years. The family is very involved with all aspects, producing fine Napa Valley wine from vineyards throughout the valley and crafting high quality wines that are elegant and distinctive yet approachable like this Sauvignon Blanc. Small, premium lots of grapes were sourced from both warmer, upper valley vineyards, and cooler Carneros vineyard blocks, resulting in a balanced blend of ripe, tropical flavors and aromas, vibrant acidity and an elegant structure. 95% Sauvignon Blanc
2.5% Muscat Canelli and 2.5% Semillon were fermented in stainless steel. 5% of the blend was sent to age in neutral French oak barrels for two months while the rest aged on the lees in tank. The wine shows vibrant tropical aromas of guava, lemongrass and citrus blossom, complemented by lush flavors of kiwi, passion fruit, lime zest and orange crème. Medium-bodied on the palate, bright fruit and crisp acidity lead into a lingering finish. The previous vintage was awarded Best of Class Double Gold, 98 points in the California State Fair Wine Competition!!!
