Vouvray 2015 Dom. Le Peu de la Moriette, J.C. Pichot
Jean-Claude Pichot's family is one of the oldest in Vouvray, with origins as viticulturists and restaurateurs dating back to 1739. Their estate vineyards, the Domaine le Peu de la Moriette has expanded over the years from thirty to just over fifty acres of hillside vineyards. The Wine Spectator scored this 2015 90 points saying "Offers a ripe, flattering feel, with creamed pear, ginger and quince flavors gliding through, backed by well-embedded acidity and a lingering mineral hint on the finish. Flirts with an off-dry feel overall, but stays refreshing and focused, displaying a pleasant fennel echo. Drink now through 2018." and Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 91 points saying "This dry wine shows hints of honey as well as pure sliced apple and white stone fruits. It is deliciously crisp, bright with acidity, almonds and a tangy texture. The wine is totally ready to drink in its fruity youth."
