Beringer 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Knights Valley, Sonoma
Beringer's Knights Valley Cabernet has been a staple of their portfolio for over three decades. Earning AVA status in 1983, Knights Valley in the northeastern Sonoma has proven to be an ideal spot for lush Cabernet and Beringer has taken advantage of that fact to produce this winner year after year. In the outstanding 2014 vintage the winemakers at Beringer have come up with another gem. James Suckling scored it 92 points and said "Firm and fresh cabernet with excellent currant and berry character, firm and silky tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A wine that shows definition and subtle complexity with lots of stone, violet and fruit character at the finish. Like the balance better than the reserve Knights Valley. Beautiful now but better in 2020."
