About Franciscan 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Franciscan Estate was founded over thirty years ago by Augustin Heneeus. Located in the heart of Napa Valley the estate owns over 200 acres of vines right in the Oakville AVA. It's no wonder their wines are consistently fine and often outstanding. From the superb 2014 vintage, this wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Syrah. Each vintage, Winemaker Janet Myers makes over 200 separate lots of Bordeaux varietals, honing the blend during 18 months of barrel aging. Only the finest lots are included in Franciscan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, to show the best of the vineyards and the vintage. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this Cab 91 points saying "This is an impressively made wine, offering a tart red currant around savory notes of fresh tobacco, clove, cedar and graphite. Robustly built up front, it shows balance through the midpalate and a firm control of its ripeness, dotted in baking spice and pepper."
