Established in 2006, Alpha Omega is located in legendary Rutherford in the heart of Napa Valley and is one of Napa's newest super premium wineries. Alpha Omegas talented winemaker, Jean Hoefliger, and world-renowned winemaking consultant Michel Rolland handcrafts finesse-driven, complex and balanced wines with grape sourced from some of Napa Valley's best vineyards. For this 2013 Proprietary Red grapes were sourced from Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Beckstoffer Las Piedras, Stagecoach and other prime vineyards. It's a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc fermented 50% in barrel and 50% in tank, averaging 35 days on skins. The wine aged 22 months, 70% new French oak barrels. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 98 points saying "This blends 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc into a seamless expression of black pepper, garrigue, clove and pencil. Old world and in full command of its power, it offers generously layered, intensely robust tannin and concentration, that flirts with richness. Half barrel-fermented and half stainless-steel, it shows promise for cellaring; enjoy best 2023 through 2038."
