Domaine Andre Lorentz, is located in Barr in the heart of Alsace. They own 75 acres of mature vines averaging 20 years of age, with diverse soils and exposures including Grand Cru acreage. Much like in Burgundy certain vineyards in Alsace that have shown over many decades to produce the finest fruit are given a Grand Cru designation. This Heritage Collection Riesling comes from the Grand Cru Kirchberg de Barr vineyard, a high altitude vineyard with southeast exposure that produces some of the finest Riesling grapes in all of Alsace. 100% Riesling
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 92 points saying "A touch of flint, tangerine peel, red and green apple meet on the nose. The palate is fresh but approachably softened by rounded ripeness. Citrus freshness plays charmingly in the background, but is ripe rather than bracing, making for a dry and refreshing finish."
