Andrew Murray 2015 Syrah, Tous Les Jours, Santa Ynez Valley

Robert Parker called Andrew Murray "one of the shining stars" and said "Andrew Murray's offerings are a breath of fresh air". And it's true that his wines stand out among the crowd for the incredible value they offer for the high quality. He focuses on Rhone varietals from the Santa Ynez Valley and has acquired a remarkable array of prime vineyard sources for his wines. This Syrah, his "Tous Le Jour" (Every day in French) is sourced from 5 different small vineyards. The grapes are all hand picked and hand sorted. The lots are fermented separately over a 2-3 week period. The final blend is aged in 100% French oak barrels for 9 months. Wine Enthusiast Magazine named this and Editors' Choice. They scored it 91 points saying " The approachable nose of this wine shows baked blackberry pie in vanilla crust, with touches of dried purple flowers. The palate is similarly crowd-pleasing, with dark berry and baking spice flavors given intriguing depth through hints of game and rosemary."
