Calculated Risk 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Here's a Killer Cab from Napa Valley that you're not going to see around much. That's because whenever it shows up it seems to disappear just as quickly. Must be word is out on this succulent Napa juice. Wine lovers know that this is serious Cab lovers wine crafted with the utmost care by team at Grand Napa. Sourcing is one of their stregnths and the grapes for this wine cames from top vineyards in both St. Helena and Calistoga. Though we can't share with you the names of the vineyards, once you taste this wine the pedigree and breeding will be crystal clear.

Of course the 2016 Vintage was outstanding, rated 98 points overall by Parker and yielding exceptional quality fruit throughout the Valley. This wine is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc aged 16 months in 60% new French oak barrels.

Internationally-renowned sommelier, wine educator, journalist, consultant and critic, Chris Sawyer rated this wine 94 points and said "With an alluring dark garnet hue, the wine features attractive aromas of ripe red fruits, wild berries, black fig and fresh sage are layered with subtle nuances of spice and toasted nuts. As the wine opens up in the glass, the gracious flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, raspberry coolie, white pepper and bittersweet chocolate are balanced with a smooth texture, silky tannins, bright acidity, and a rewarding finish that makes every sip count. Elegant, complex and drinkable when young, this is an outstanding wine that over-delivers for the price."
