About Calculated Risk 2018 Red Blend, Napa Valley
From one of our favorite wineries and crafted with the utmost care by the team at Grand Napa, comes Calculated Risk Red Blend, Napa Valley. Sourcing is a major stregnth of theirs and the grapes for this wine came from top vineyards in both St. Helena and Calistoga.
Of course the 2018 vintage was outstanding, rated 99 points overall by Wine Spectator so you know the juice is prime. The blend is 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Malbec and 20% Merlot aged 18 months in French oak.
James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "Plenty of savory aromas here with black olive, mushroom and oyster shell, layered with blackcurrant and tobacco leaf. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, sleek tannins. Structured and flavorful. Drink or hold."
