Camigliano is one of the most historic estates in Montalcino and has 220 acres of vineyards. Today after construction of a new subterranean cellar, the new cellar is fully equipped with modern technology. Its exposure together with its ventilating system ensures a consistent, cool temperature and ideal humidity.
This wine is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Sangiovese. Fermentation was in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with maceration 10-12 days. The wine aged 6 months in French oak barriques . James Suckling scored this 91 points saying "“Dried red berries, earth, roasted herbs and cedar. Medium body, medium-chewy tannins and a medium finish. Drink now.”
The Wine Spectator scored this 92 points saying "A ripe style, verging on overripe, boasting plum and blackberry flavors, with iron, leather and wild herb notes. Broad and powerful, revealing a dense layer of tannins on the long, savory finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Drink now through 2028."
