Frida Kahlo is a woman who passionately embraced life. Her extraordinary artwork is timeless and inspiring. All of this as well as Frida’s passion, sophistication, elegance and attitude to create are what inspired Vina Carmen to produce this wine.
Grapes were handpicked from their estate vineyard, located over the best alluvial terraces in the Alto Maipo Region by the Andes mountains. Before fermentation the grapes are cold macerated for 10 days, to ensure maximum retention of primary fruit aromas and to maximize color extraction. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks temperature controlled. The total maceration period was between 14-22 days and the wine then aged in French oak barrels for 14 months.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine made this an Editors' Choice and scored it 90 points saying "Beyond the cool concept label, there’s a serious Cabernet Sauvignon in the bottle—one with steady aromas of cola and root beer along with berries and light oak. A flush palate deals a full fan of berry flavors, while rubbing tannins give grip to an otherwise easy finish. Drink through 2024."
and Tasting Panel Magazine scored it 92 saying "Scents of sweet tobacco, currants and earth deliver a complex nosing. Ripeness ensues on the palate with sun-kissed raspberry and rhubarb. Minerality weaves through an earthy, mocha-inspired core, and dusty, round tannins offer structure. French oak aging develops a creamy mouthfeel that is deep and rich."
