In 1962, Luigi Cecchi acquired a marvelous estate in Chianti Classico and in the 1970s the company moved to Castellina in Chianti, where the family founded their headquarters. Now the fourth generation, Cesare and Andrea, run the family business which has roots back to the late 1800's. This Chianti Classico is the result of the Cecchi family’s sourcing Sangiovese grapes from the top growing areas in the appellation. After fermenting in steel tanks, the wine is aged for a year in wooden casks.
The Wine Spectator said "A beam of pure cherry is the focus of this red, showing accents of tobacco, earth and spice. Well-balanced, with a lingering finish. Drink now through 2020."
and James Suckling scored it 92 points saying "Very bright and fruity with clean and lively fruit as well as spice. Medium body, silky tannins and a pretty finish. Drink now."
