Chappellet
Vineyards in the Pritchard Hill region of Napa Valley is legendary for
its outstanding Cab-based wines and their Mountain Cuvee is their
affordable red blend made to be drunk while waiting for the big boys to
come around. This 2016 uses grapes from the Chappellet estate as well as
other prime vineyards in Napa and Sonoma. It's a Bordeaux style blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 13% Malbec , 9% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, the
result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure
pleasure in a glass.
2016 was yet another excellent vintage in
Napa and Sonoma and this wine shows concentrated aromas of black cherry, boysenberry and dark chocolate. On the palate, a creamy texture underscores the wine’s richness, while accentuating flavors of ripe plum, vanilla and roasted coffee that glide to a long, lingering finish.
