About Chateau Belrose 2016 Bordeaux Superieur
Here's a stunning Bordeaux value! Chateau Belrose is an estate located in the Entre-Deux-Mers, between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers where the clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils are ideal for growing Merlot and Cabernet. The estate boasts mature vines averaging 25 years of age planted 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes have good concentration due to the maturity and health of the vines. After harvest, the grapes are fermented for 3 weeks at in temperature controlled conditions, after which the wine goes into French oak barrels for 6-8 months. In the outstanding 2016 vintage this wine truly excelled.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 90 points saying "This wine is full and ripe, with a solid mix of fine tannins and rich black-currant flavors. It has the tannins of the vintage and a powerful fruitiness that gives excellent potential. Drink from 2022."
