A Super Value!! We were very excited when we stumble upon this petite chateau Bordeaux. Hailing from the right bank Cotes de Bourg with its clay mixed with fragmented limestone soils, it's a small 15-acre vineyard growing Merlot (60%) Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Malbec (10%), goblet pruned with grass growing between the rows. Grapes undergo a cold maceration before a three-week fermentation in traditional cement tanks. The wine was aged in a tank on the fine lees before bottling.
This wine shows a beautiful garnet color and an inviting nose of black fruits, fresh humus and cured tobacco. The palate shows small black fruits, blackcurrants, cherries, blackberries with hints of fine leather. Wonderfully fleshy and ripe with polished friendly tannins. The finish brings up some sweet spicy notes that linger.
We were ready to be told this was a $40+ bottle, so when we heard the special offer we jumped on it. Don't miss this Bordeaux gem that's overdelivering in a big way. The tiny production won't last long!
