Superb Haut-Medoc Bordeaux Value!
  • 94 Points
  • Prime location in the Haut-Medoc
  • Mature 34 year old vines
  • "showing a fine equilibrium between fruit and tannins"
Chateau Cissac's vineyards are situated on a plateau with a soil composed of gravel deposits from the Garonne River. It is located at an altitude equivalent to the highest points of the neighboring appellations of Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac. The vines average a mature 34 years of age planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

This wine from the very successful but low yield 2019 vintage is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. The use of both stainless steel and wooden vats has brought out the best of the winemaking process for each parcel. The wine aged 14-16 months in 30% new oak.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 94 points saying "This is a refined wine, elegantly structured and already showing a fine equilibrium between fruit and tannins. Its wood aging is also beginning to smooth the fruit's vibrancy. It has great promise and long-term aging."
